Conditions: 1M Turf. WinStar Distaff H. (Grade 3). (PLUS UP TO $13,500 Open ATB) FOR FILLIES AND MARES, THREE YEARS OLD AND UPWARD. No nomination fee. $1,500 to pass the entry box and an additional $1,500 to start with $200,000 guaranteed of which $120,000 to the owner of the winner, $40,000 to second, $22,000 to third, $12,000 to fourth and $6,000 to fifth. Weights: Sunday, May 22, 2005. Starters to be named through the entry box by the usual time of closing. High weights preferred. The field will be limited to twelve starters. Horses not drawing a starting position in thegate will receive a refund of the entry fee. A suitable award will be presented to the winning owner. Nominations closed Wednesday, May 18, 2005 with 39 nominations. (If Deemed inadvisable by management to run this race over the Turf course, it will be run on the main track at One Mile.).

Race Summary

KATDOGAWN (GB) settled off the pace, waited between rivals while three wide on the far turn, dropped to one off the rail near the quarter-pole, shifted back out at the top of the stretch and closed strongly under left hand urging. VALENTINE DANCER was rated under a tight hold while just off the pace, waited between horses on the far turn, shifted three wide into the stretch, rallied into the final furlong, loomed boldly into the final sixteenth but was outfinished while able to secure the place. VOZ DE COLEGIALA (CHI) angled in nearing the first turn, settled on the inside, ranged up leaving the backstretch, made a rail bid leaving the far turn, battled into the final sixteenth and was also outfinished. PAZ CIUDADANA (CHI) was well rated while setting the pace off the rail, responded well when set down in upper stretch, battled gamely into the final sixteenth and gave way grudgingly. MARWOOD was reserved on the inside, saved ground through the far turn, loomed a threat in upper stretch, steadied off heels while blocked throughout the final furlong and lost all chance. BLUE SONG was unprepared at the start, raced at the back of the field while very hard held, trailed the field into the stretch and never reached contention. BONNIE J. threw her head just after the start, raced three wide on the first turn, settled towards the back of the well bunched field, was urged along while three wide and between rivals on the far turn then came up empty. MY MISTY PRINCESS was unhurried near the back of the field, raced six wide on the far turn, came seven wide into the stretch and failed to rally. QUEENA CORRINA was caught four wide on the first turn, settled on the outside, raced four wide on the far turn, drifted five wide into the stretch and faded. TARA'S TOUCH (SAF) tracked the leader while three wide, was forced four wide into the stretch and faltered. YOURSMINEOURS raced three wide on the first turn, settled on the outside, was urged along while five wide on the far turn, floated six wide into the stretch and stopped.(Rail at 0 Feet)
