Race Summary

SAINT LIAM, in hand early and eased back behind front-running PRESIDENTIAL AFFAIR, went along under careful rating, inched to challenge on the far turn, took over approaching the quarter-mile ground, kicked clear, remained three wide and prevailed under strong hand urging. EUROSILVER ducked in at the start and slammed PERFECT DRIFT, raced four wide while never far back, angled six wide for the stretch run and couldn't seriously menace the winner late as second best. PERFECT DRIFT, jolted at the start by EUROSILVER and forced in on COLONIAL COLONY, raced within easy striking distance four or five wide, reached closest attendance to the winner when nearing the final furlong but lacked a further account. M B SEA settled inside early, was unhurried until nearing the final quarter, worked his way out seven wide when straightened for the drive and improved position while not a serious threat. GOULDINGS GREEN settled near the inside, was always in contention, remained near the inside for seven furlongs, angled out between horses four wide for the final eighth and flattened out. BADGE OF SILVER worked his way near the inside early while forwardly placed, was two wide around the far turn, remained near the inner railing for the drive and was empty when the test came. COLONIAL COLONY, bumped at the start by PERFECT DRIFT when that one was forced in on PRESIDENTIAL AFFAIR, was outrun and seven or eight wide in the drive. PRESIDENTIALAFFAIR was knocked off stride in the hindquarters soon after the start by COLONIAL COLONY after that one was forced in, recovered quickly to gain the lead, raced three or four wide, made the pace until approaching the stretch and faltered.
