PLEASANT CHIMES saved ground while forwardly placed, steadied leaving the four and a half furlong pole, angled out leaving the far turn, chased the leaders into the lane, angled back in but lacked the needed response. RUNWAY MODEL, bumped at the break, saved ground early and failed to respond. PRIVATE GIFT, in tight at the break, lost ground four to five wide nearing the half mile marker, raced in close attendance into the far turn then retreated. MERRILL GOLD had her rider's left rein break soon after the start, drifted out some entering the first turn, was astutely guided back towards the inside nearing the backstretch, was guided by her rider gripping the left side of her bridle, set the pace for six furlongs, remained a presence to the quarter pole, tired and was eased from the three sixteenth's marker.
