Race Summary

NAVESINK RIVER reserved early, moved up around the clubhouse turn to stalk the pace three wide, then responded to pressure in the drive and rallied to be up late. QUEST STAR well handled while setting the pace along the rail into the stretch continued on with good courage to save the place while unable to resist the winner in the closing strides. DEPUTY LAD allowed to settle, raced three wide on the far turn and was gaining on the top ones at the finish. SCOOTER ROACH moved up racing down the stretch the first time, prompted the pace outside QUEST STAR into the stretch and weakened. EUROPEAN (IRE) never far back while saving ground, advanced along the rail to loom a threat in the stretch, but couldn't gain late when trapped and steadied in behind QUEST STAR. GIGLI (BRZ) allowed to settle, angled out for the drive and lacked the needed response. STAGE CALL (IRE) rated off the pace while saving ground, swung out for the stretch run and didn't do enough late. ART VARIETY (BRZ) was not a factor. (The rail on the turf course was set at 84 feet).
