Race Summary |
|
DELTA PRINCESS, reserved soon after the start and angled in four
wide, reached contention as the field bunched approaching the stretch,
circled horses eight wide and was under urging to prevail. SHACONAGE, up
close from the outset and five or six wide to the far turn, made the lead
between calls leaving the backstretch, was headed from the inside by ERHU
just before going six furlongs, regained the advantage in the upper stretch, then failed to contain the winner's surge. ERHU, never far
back, raced near the inside, rallied inside to reach the front on the far
turn but weakened nearing the final furlong. CAPE TOWN LASS, unhurried early
and four wide, was asked for her best at the five-sixteenths pole, remained a
factor into the final furlong and failed to fire. PRETTY JANE gained the lead
early, raced five wide while making the pace, edged in a bit nearing the end
of the backstretch, when displaced, held on well until the final quarter and
weakened. DYNAMIC CAT settled near the inside, came out five wide entering
the stretch and had no rally. SPARKLING HUMOR popped the gate open prior to
the start but was in the hands of the assistant starter. During the running,
SPARKLING HUMOR forced the pace between foes to the end of the backstretch
and weakened. |
