Conditions: 1 1/16M Turf. Fort Marcy H. (Grade 3). A HANDICAP FOR THREE YEAR OLDS AND UPWARD. By subscription of $100 each, which should accompany the nomination; $500 to pass the entry box; $500 to start, with $100,000 added. The added money and all fees to be divided 60% to the winner, 20% to second, 10% to third, 5% to fourth, 3% to fifth and 2% divided equally among the remaining finishers. A trophy will be presented to the winning owner. The New York Racing Association reserves the right to transfer this race to the Main Track. In the event that this race is taken off the turf, it may be subject to downgrading upon review by the Graded Stakes Committee. Closed Saturday, April 9, 2005 with 39 Nominations. (If the Stewards consider it inadvisable to run this race on the turf course, this race will berun at One Mile on the main track.).

Race Summary

BETTER TALK NOW was unhurried early on, advanced inside on the second turn, angled out in upper stretch, collared REMIND leaving the eighth pole and bested that rival under confident handling. REMIND contested the pace along the inside, drew clear when roused in upper stretch and dug in gamely on the rail. ECCLESIASTIC was outrun early, raced inside, rallied nearing the stretch and finished gamely. CHILLY ROOSTER contested the pace from the outside, bobbled on the second turn, drifted out a bit entering the stretch and tired. L'OISEAU D'ARGENT was taken back after the start, was rated along three wide and tired in the stretch.
