Race Summary

TWO TRAIL SIOUX, away in good order and quickly in command while maneuvered to show the way three or four wide, turned back a bid from RARE GIFT nearing the final quarter, was engaged again by that rival and STORM'S DARLING at the furlong grounds, then proved gamely best under solid right-handed urging. STORM'S DARLING bobbled sharply at the break when the ground appeared to break from beneath her, was never far back, followed the leaders five wide, made a strong bid outside the winner and RARE GIFT nearing the final furlong but wasn't good enough while outgaming RARE GIFT for second. RARE GIFT tracked the winner from early on while four wide, inched to challenge nearing the final quarter, loomed between the top two for the drive and wasn't good enough. LA REASON, never far back, worked her way inside, edged closer near the rail on the far turn, remained inside for the drive and slowly was gaining. SHADOW CAST settled in hand inside early, was unhurried for six furlongs, came out five wide for the drive but lacked a serious response. ISLAND SAND broke in the air, was unhurried and moved out six wide on the backstretch, edged in the far turn, came out to make a run from between foes four wide into the final furlong but was empty late. QUICK TEMPER, four wide, tired on the far turn.
