Race Summary

LIMEHOUSE raced close up early while well in hand, advanced outside on the turn, responded when set down for the drive, drew clear and remained clear under a steady drive. GYGISTAR raced in hand early, was angled out on the backstretch, put in a three wide run on the turn and stayed on gamely to the finish. CUBA was hustled outside, came in entering the turn, forcing FUNNY CIDE to steady and placing CHOWDER'S FIRST in tight quarters on the rail, raced on the rail around the turn, came wide into the stretch and lacked a rally. ROYAL ASSAULT was hustled along outside, put in a three wide run on the turn and had little left for the stretch drive. FUNNY CIDE raced in hand along the inside, was steadied when put in tight quarters entering the turn and had no rally. EVENING ATTIRE was outrun early, raced four wide and had no rally. ROGUE AGENT was hustled out to a clear lead, set the pace and tired after three quarters. SPITE THE DEVIL was outrun early, came wide into the stretch and had no response when roused. CHOWDER'S FIRST raced close up along the inside, was in tight quarters on the rail entering the turn and tired. Following a Stewards' inquiry and a claim of foul against the third place finisher by the rider of the fifth place finisher, CUBA was disqualified from third position and placed fifth for causing interference entering the turn.
