Race Summary |
|
BELLAMY ROAD was sent directly to the front,
dictated the pace while in hand along the inside, moved clear of the field on
the second turn, ran away when asked for more in upper stretch and widened
with every stride while not fully extended in deep stretch, winning with
something left. SURVIVALIST was rated along inside, was asked to pick it up
approaching the second turn, angled out and went three wide around PAVO and
GALLOPING GROCER, angled to the inside of a drifting GOING WILD nearing the
stretch, came wide for the drive, could get nowhere near the winner but
finished with good courage to edge SCRAPPY T. for the place. SCRAPPY T raced
close up along the inside while in hand, was sent after the winner leaving
the backstretch, could not stay with that rival turning for home and was outfinished for the place. GALLOPING GROCER came away
well, was taken in hand and moved to the inside on the first turn, raced on
the rail thereafter and had no response when roused. NAUGHTY NEW YORKER was
outrun early and had no response when called on. PAVO chased the pace while
three wide and was finished after the opening half mile. GOING WILD chased
the pace while between rivals and drifted out while tiring on the second
turn. |
