Race Summary

GENERAL JOHN B contested the pace at once while racing inside of RAILROAD under light rating, gained a slight edge three wide, was headed briefly early on the backstretch by RAILROAD, regained the advantage while continuing under careful handling, put that foe away entering the far turn, eased out to race four or five wide, held a clear advantage into the stretch and was kept to his task to widen a bit. QUIET MONEY, a bit sluggish to begin, bumped with LEAD FOR SPEED, settled three wide, moved up nicely along the inside entering the backstretch, was asked for more upon going five furlongs, swung outside the winner five wide for the drive but couldn't menace as second best. LEAD FOR SPEED hopped a bit at the start and bobbled when bumping with QUIET MONEY, was steadied between foes entering the first turn when exchanging bumps with STORMIN AWAY, maneuvered near the inside, remained near the rail for the drive and improved position while unable to menace the top two. STORMIN AWAY, five or six wide early, exchanged bumps with LEAD FOR SPEED entering the first turn, tracked the pace five wide, remained a factor into the upper stretch and flattened out. DYNAWHITE, between rivals four or five wide, raced in contention until the final quarter and weakened. RAILROAD, in front just after the break, battled with the winner while outside that one, headed GENERAL JOHN B briefly early on the backstretch, then gradually weakened entering the far turn.
