Conditions: 1 1/16M Dirt. Texas Stallion S.. (PLUS UP TO $13,500 Open ATB) FOR COLTS & GELDINGS, THREE YEARS OLD WHICH ARE NOMINATED TO THE TEXAS STALLION STAKES. (Three year olds of 2005, nominated as either weanlings or yearlings, by Accredited Texas Stallions of 2001 nominated with the Texas Thoroughbred Association to the Texas Stallion Stakes Series.) $500 to the pass the entry box and an additional $1,000 to start with $125,000 guaranteed to be divided 60% to the owner of the winner, 20% to second, 11% to third, 6% to fourth and 3% to fifth. Weights: 120 lbs. Total earnings will be used in determining the order of preference. The field will be limited to the top 12 money earners. Horses not drawing a starting position in the gate will receive a refund of the entry fee. Starters to be named through the entry box by the usual time of closing. A suitable award will be presented to the winning owner.

Race Summary

GENERAL CHARLEY set the clear pace while well off the rail, responded well when asked in upper stretch and drew away under steady right hand urging. DIXIE MEISTER raced three wide on the first turn, settled near the middle of the field, entered the far turn four wide, dropped to one off the rail near the five-sixteenths marker then to the rail outside the quarter-pole and earned the place while no match for the winner. WAR BRIDLE was in tight near the seven-furlong marker, raced four wide on the first turn, settled on the outside, advanced with a half-mile to run, chased the winner while three to four wide on the far turn and weakened then was caught for the place. GRUGLY went three wide on the first turn, settled near the back of the field, raced three to four wide on the far turn and failed to rally. LEAVING ON MY MIND settled off the pace, raced three wide into the far turn, angled to the rail near the five-sixteenths marker, steadied slightly inside that marker, shifted three wide near the quarter-pole and came up empty. MR. COLD COMFORT bobbled at the start, was unhurried at the back of the field and failed to threaten. CAPOTE'S BAR bobbled just after the start, raced three wide on the first turn, tracked the solo leader, dropped out near the three-furlong marker and stopped. APPEALING AIR was rated on the inside, saved ground on both turns and showed little.
