GENERAL CHARLEY set
the clear pace while well off the rail, responded well when asked in upper
stretch and drew away under steady right hand urging. DIXIE MEISTER raced
three wide on the first turn, settled near the middle of the field, entered
the far turn four wide, dropped to one off the rail near the five-sixteenths
marker then to the rail outside the quarter-pole and earned the place while
no match for the winner. WAR BRIDLE was in tight near the seven-furlong
marker, raced four wide on the first turn, settled on the outside, advanced
with a half-mile to run, chased the winner while three to four wide on the
far turn and weakened then was caught for the place. GRUGLY went three wide
