Race Summary

TIMBER JONES settled off the pace, lacked room while three wide near the five-sixteenths marker, split rivals near the quarter-pole, shifted out in upper stretch and closed steadily to get up in the final stride. ROCKIN' KATE settled on the outside, made a middle move to make a bid near the three-furlong marker, edged clear in upper stretch, remained clear into the final furlong but shortened stride late and was denied near the wire. TIZZY GIRL was caught four wide on the first turn, dropped to three wide nearing the six-furlong marker, moved to a clear lead entering the backstretch, was challenged passing the three-furlong marker, vied into the stretch and tired while able to hold the show. SMOKE PIT was caught three to four wide on the first turn, settled on the outside, advanced three wide leaving the backstretch, held a good striking position into the stretch but had nothing left. MS SENECA ROCK settled well back in the field, raced five wide on the second turn and failed to rally. NOLA JEAN broke a step slow, was unhurried near the back of the field, saved ground on the far turn and failed to threaten. BERDELIA went three wide on the first turn, was reserved off the pace, raced four wide while urged along on the far turn and never reached contention. LUCKY DAME raced three wide on the first turn, settled near the back, went three wide on the far turn, moved to four wide near the quarter-pole and showed little. TUNED IN was caught three wide into the first turn, settled inside on the backstretch, came up empty on the far turn and faded. ANGELA MARJORIE contested the early lead, was taken back behind TIZZY GIRL entering the backstretch, moved off the rail and tracked that rival on the outside, came up empty on the far turn and retreated.
