Race Summary

CONSOLIDATOR had good early speed three deep then dueled outside a rival, inched clear into the stretch and drew off under a strong hand ride and a late crack of the whip left handed while drifting in. GIACOMO between horses early, stalked off the rail, bid three deep leaving the second turn and into the stretch and held second. DON'T GET MAD came off the rail into the backstretch, chased between horses, split rivals on the second turn, came out some into the stretch and just missed the place. WILKO was unsettled as the gates opened and broke slowly, went up four wide into the first turn, chased outside a foe on the backstretch, bid four wide again leaving the second turn but could not sustain that bid in the drive. GOLDEN SHINE tugged his way three deep between horses early, angled in leaving the first turn and chased inside but lacked the needed response in the stretch. LUCKY J. H. angled in and dueled inside the winner, dropped back into the stretch and weakened. IN EXCELSIS rank outside a rival early then steadied inside into and on the first turn, dropped back inside on the backstretch, came out into the stretch and gave way. ROMAN RULER a bit awkwardly into stride, pulled his way between horses and steadied in tight early, came out on the first turn, went up four wide on the backstretch, dropped back outside on the second turn, also gave way and was eased in the final furlong.
