Race Summary |
|
RAZOR gained a clear lead early while making the
pace five wide, edged in a bit on the turn, came out again to race four wide
into the stretch, then maintained his advantage under energetic handling.
CRIMSON STAG came out at the start bumping SIR LAFF ALOT, raced in closest
attendance to the winner while outside that one early, angled inside of RAZOR
for the final furlong but couldn't challenge as second best. SIR LAFF ALOT,
bumped at the break by CRIMSON STAG, was outsprinted for a half while in
behind horses, came out six wide for the drive and improved position while
unable to menace the top two. DEPARTING NOW broke in front, followed the
leaders six wide on the backstretch, edged in a bit on the turn, was put to a
drive at the five-sixteenths pole, raced prominently into the final furlong
and flattened out. SOCIAL PROBATION, well positioned early, dropped back a
bit in the upper stretch, moved in between foes three or four wide and
couldn't menace. CHEROKEE PATH, forwardly placed inside early, continued
within striking distance into the final furlong and was finished.
EYEFORGLORY, sluggish to start, was steadied in behind CHEROKEE PATH at the
five-eighths pole, remained near the inside and wasn't a factor. |
