Race Summary |
|
FLOWER ALLEY pressed the early pace in the two path,
dropped back a bit before a half and again into the second turn, steadied
briefly near the quarter mile marker when MAGNA GRADUATE angled in a bit,
moved out leaving the second turn, responded willingly when roused in upper
stretch and closed fast to be up in time. WILD DESERT outrun for a half,
advanced off the inside into the second turn, angled out approaching the
stretch, came wider in upper stretch to get outside the winner then finished
well while not quite good enough. MR SWORD within striking distance in the
two path, moved up quickly after a half, gained a
short lead with three furlongs to go, drew clear into the stretch but
faltered late. MAGNA GRADUATE never far back three wide, stayed in that path
after six furlongs, angled in a bit with a quarter mile to go and lacked a
late bid. ANDROMEDA'S HERO outrun early along the inside, angled around a
tiring DIAMOND ISLE entering the second turn, came out farther in the strip
for the drive and rallied willingly. SPANISH CHESTNUT set the pace in the
three path, held on well to midstretch and tired.
MAYAN KING reserved three wide, made a solid middle move off the inside to
reach a striking position with three furlongs to go but gave way in the final
quarter. DIAMOND ISLE close up along the inside, was in a bit tight with
three furlongs to go then stopped. TEXCESS within striking distance four
wide, stopped. A foul claim by the owner of |
