Race Summary |
|
SUMMERLY gained the lead soon after the
start, raced under light restraint while three or four wide, leaned in
slightly tightening it up on SIS CITY entering the first turn, continued
under rating while showing the way three wide, was engaged by SIS CITY from
the outside midway on the far turn, was displaced by that rival for a stride
between calls nearing the five-sixteenths pole, battled SIS CITY into
submission approaching the final furlong, edged clear and maintained her
advantage steady encouragement. IN THE GOLD, well placed from early on while
under light rating two or three wide, edged closer from between rivals
leaving the backstretch, moved menacingly five wide into the upper stretch
but couldn't challenge the winner late while clearly best of the others.
GALLANT SECRET hopped slightly at the start, dropped back last while
unhurried four wide, was between foes in the upper stretch, angled inside the
leaders in deep stretch and was under strong encouragement for her position.
SIS CITY, up close inside the winner early, was steadied nearing the first
turn when SUMMERLY leaned in a bit, eased outside that one entering the
backstretch to press the issue four or five wide, was asked for more entering
the far turn, inched up to bob her head in front for a stride approaching the
five-sixteenths pole, surrendered the edge back to SUMMERLY, dueled with that
one into the upper stretch and weakened gradually. MEMORETTE broke in the air
to immediately trail, raced three wide, edged closer to the inner railing for
the stretch run and improved position. RUNWAY MODEL gained a striking
position along the inside approaching the first turn, was lightly checked in
behind rivals, continued to save ground when asked for her best leaving the
three-eighths pole, eased out a bit entering the lane and was empty. RUGULA
bobbled a bit at the break and drifted out, followed the leaders in a
striking position four or five wide, angled wider into the stretch and
faltered. |
