Race Summary

CLOSING ARGUMENT chased the pace along the inside, eased out to make a run at the leader on the far turn, moved to gain a slim lead in the stretch, then edged away late under pressure. KANSAS CITY BOY set the pace outside CLOSING ARGUMENT, edged away from that rival on the backstretch while angling over to the inside, responded when headed in the stretch but couldn't stay with the winner late while holding the place. HIGH FLY chased the pace four wide around the first turn, made a run three wide on the far turn to reach the leaders entering the stretch, then was steadied when he drifted in behind CLOSING ARGUMENT inside the sixteenth pole and gave way. CRIMINAL MIND outrun after being steadied from tight quarters in the early going, passed tired rivals in the drive. DEAREST MON off slowly, was never a factor. DRUM MAJOR chased the pace, then was steadied from between rivals entering the far turn and tired. HOSTILE WITNESS was through after six furlongs. G P'S BLACK KNIGHT allowed to settle, stopped leaving the far turn and was pulled up in the stretch.
