The owner of the winner to receive $600,000, $190,000 to second, $100,000 to third, $60,000 to fourth, $30,000 to fifth and $20,000 to sixth. WEIGHT: 122 lbs. Horses finishing first, second or third in the Aventura Stakes, Holy Bull Stakes, Hutcheson Stakes, and/or the Fountain of Youth Stakes, will automatically be nominated to the Florida Derby. Early bird nominations to the Florida Derby series closed on Wednesday, November 17, 2004 with 99 nominations. Regular nominations closed on March 23, 2005 with 2 nominations. Race Summary

HIGH FLY in hand while stalking the pace, moved up to engage B. B. BEST leaving the far turn, gained the lead nearing the eighth pole and edged away when roused, then was under a strong hand ride to hold NOBLE CAUSEWAY safe. The latter, reserved racing off the rail, angled five wide on the far turn, rallied to reach the attending position at the sixteenth pole but couldn't gain on the winner late. B. B. BEST quickly moved to the fore, made the pace along the rail, responded when challenged leaving the far turn, then weakened in the drive. PARK AVENUE BALL allowed to settle, advanced along the inside on the far turn to reach contention in the stretch but couldn't sustain his bid. MIGHTY MECKE stalked the pace three wide into the far turn, then gave way. VICARAGE hit the gate at the start, moved up to track the pace four wide into the far turn and tired. PAPI CHULLO rated in striking position off the pace after hitting the gate at the start, faltered leaving the far turn. EVIL MINISTER was outrun while saving ground. WALLSTREET SCANDAL trailed and was eased in the final eighth.
