Race Summary

SHE SINGS, in front after the start, lost the advantage briefly to KICK THE CAN on the first turn while dueling, regained the lead for good soon after a quarter, drew clear on the backstretch, began to edge away from her field on the far turn, then widened in the stretch under intermittent left-handed urging. VIRDEN, never far back, advanced five wide around the far turn and couldn't menace the winner in the drive while up for the place. MI LUNA NUEVA settled inside, inched up leaving the backstretch, was five or six wide entering the stretch and improved position while never a threat. ISLAND ESCAPE, unhurried five wide early, remained off the inside while going up midway on the backstretch to track the winner, remained a threat to the stretch and flattened out badly. KICK THE CAN headed the winner early from the inside while battling on the first turn, lost the edge to SHE SINGS, eased off the inside on the far turn, continued in contention four wide to the stretch and tired. COUNTRY KAT was outrun. SHOUT TO THE NORTH raced in contention five wide to the far turn and faded.
