By subscription of $1,000 which shall accompany the nomination, original nominators paying $7,500 to pass the entry box and $7,500 additional to start. Supplementary nominations may be made by the closing time of entries at a fee of $50,000 which qualifies to start with $1,000,000 Guaranteed of which $600,000 to the owner of the winner, $200,000 to second, $100,000 to third, $50,000 to fourth, $30,000 to fifth and $20,000 to sixth. WEIGHTS: Colts and Geldings 122 lbs.; Fillies 117 lbs. Non-winners of a Sweepstakes allowed 4 lbs. In Allowance Stakes starting preference will be given to horses that have accumulated the highest earnings, excluding money won in restricted races. Starters to be named through the entry box by the usual time of closing. The Owner of the winner to recieve a trophy. Early Bird closing Saturday, February 12, 2005 at $250 for both The Rebel and The Arkansas Derby. Nominations Closed Saturday, March 26, 2005 with 95 Nominees.

Race Summary

AFLEET ALEX settled off the pace while comfortably in hand, ranged up at will to challenge four wide in the second turn, asked a bit into the stretch, accelerated quickly clear under brisk right handed urging. FLOWER ALLEY within striking distance, three wide second turn, dueled briefly with the winner inside that one into the lane, could not keep up, drifted, held the place. ANDROMEDA'S HERO middle of the pack, within striking distance into the lane, altered course to the outside for room midstretch, finished willingly to miss the place. REAL DANDY lacked early foot, moved a bit closer four wide turning for home, lacked a late kick. GREATER GOOD lacked early foot outside, simply did not fire. CANTEEN prompted the pace off the inside, lodged a bid between foes late in the second turn, had little left for the drive. RUSH BAY off the pace, steadied in traffic midway second turn, not a factor in the drive. WILD DESERT remained back while saving ground to no avail. CAT SHAKER was never a factor. BATSON CHALLENGE clear early, pace into far turn, stopped.
