Race Summary

ROUND POND bobbled leaving the gate, raced close up early along the inside, came wide into the stretch, responded when roused and drew clear late under a drive. SMUGGLER raced close up outside, advanced while wide on the turn, dug in determinedly while between rivals in the stretch and came again gamely to earn the place prize. IN THE GOLD was bumped after the start, dropped back early, put in a quick three wide run on the turn, led into deep stretch and faltered late. SPLENDID BLENDED quickly showed in front, set the pace while in hand and dug in stubbornly on the rail in the stretch. SEEKING THE ANTE was bumped after the start, was outrun early, put in a good run on the turn and weakened in the final furlong. SEEK A STAR was bumped after the start, was hustled up inside, was steadied on the rail on the turn and tired.
